Positive: We spent part of our honeymoon there 60 ago almost to the day! We have stayed there on 3 or 4 occasions since then, so we know the hotel and what it offers, well.

Negative: We were sad to note how few other people were spending the night there. At this low occupancy rate, the hotel cannot survive. This was the 2nd Orion hotel we've stayed at in the past 12 months, the other being the Coach House, and in both cases, this was a disappointment. Specific to the Magoebaskloof Hotel were many minor maintenance problems in the room that I will inform the management about in detail. I was disappointed to hear that it will not be participating in the Azalea festival.

Summary: It remains a lovely place to stay, in a prime position and we hope that it bsurvives.
