The space:
Light-filled and spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with slide-away doors on both sides, leading out to the courtyard and terrace. Dining table seats 10 comfortably, with an additional 10-seater table on the terrace. Well-equipped kitchen with gas oven and five-burner hob, two refrigerators, dishwasher, washing machine, and plenty of cookware, dishware and utensils.
Main bedroom is a dream, with a king-size bed, two basins, indoor shower, outdoor shower, bathtub, and fireplace. Guest bedrooms are smaller but still spacious, all with comfortable queen-size beds. Three bedrooms open directly onto the garden, and the fourth has a bay window looking out onto the garden, all with views toward the stream.
The 12m saltwater pool is perfect for swimming laps or just hanging out--there's an underwater bench running the full length of one side.
Guest access
You'll have the entire farm to yourself--16 hectares of peace and quiet. There's a stream running along the southern and eastern edge of the property, with a swimming pond carved out of the slate, a small waterfall, two picnic platforms, a series of concrete benches placed every few hundred metres. The neighbours' cows cross the property in the morning and then cross back again in the late afternoon, which has become a favourite daily routine. Just up the hill from the house are a large concrete yoga circle and a meditation garden. There is also a basketball court and hoop down by the stream.
Other things to note
The home is fully off-grid, powered by solar panels and batteries. If you turn on only what you are using, you should have more than enough power. Double-glazed windows keep the house warm and cozy in the winter. In the summer, turn on the ceiling fans or just push back the sliding doors and enjoy the gentle breeze flowing through.
