Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The pool area is lovely and very relaxing. It also has a nice view. The lapa in front of our room was great to use (if only it was clean). The staff were very friendly. I loved the made to order omelettes at breakfast. The dinners were ok - quite a variety of choice - not the best cooking, but the soups were very good. We had a pleasant and peaceful stay though.

Negative: The room is a bit drab and very dark. It did catch late afternoon sun which made it more pleasant around sunset, and it’s ok in the evenings. It does need more room lights - especially an overhead light for night time. There was only 1 bedside lamp and we are both night time readers so we had to ask for a second bedside light. I am currently disabled on crutches but the ramp by the swimming pool is completely overgrown, so no wheelchairs or crutch walkers can use it and instead have to climb a big step onto the pool deck or walk/wheel around on the grass embankment to reach the pool - not ideal. Why have a ramp for disabled people if you can’t keep it clear? The lapa outside our room #5 was INFESTED with guano (bird poop) all over the bench table, bench seats and the tiled floor. I used this area to do 2 hours of physiotherapy for my leg because it was nice and sunny and has a nice view, but had to dodge the piles of guano. I told Happiness about it afterwards and she got someone to clean the area the next day - would have been much better had it been cleaned before we arrived. You get the feeling that the owners should be more hands on and supervise more regularly. The place is a bit neglected.

Summary: Peaceful, quite pleasant but not sure I’ll be back
